Rotem Levy Zakin
Lives & works in Tel-Aviv, Israel
After graduating from art school, Rotem moved to Berlin. There Rotem created art and established the female artists collective 'ribaund'. Today Rotem works in Tel Aviv and creates collages inspired by nature and feminism. Rotem assembles elements of women's bodies, nature, and advertisements from magazines, constructing and creating a new image that is not figurative. These bodies are immortalized with glue or inside an object that determines the fate of different parts combined forever. They become an object, beautiful a object.
"I dismantle the familiar image and recreate a new one, like the attempt to destroy and change the look of the female body".
